A local news crew is on-hand as dozens of filled back packs are prepared for distribution to local children.

In what is becoming an annual tradition, Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center employees donated backpacks filled with school supplies to underprivileged children for the second consecutive year. Team One, a group of dedicated employees that plan employee and charitable activities at Sierra Vista, coordinated more than 30 departments to provide 60 school supply filled backpacks for 51 children through both San Luis Obispo Participant Services and Child Welfare Foster Care Services. Each backpack was filled for a specific child. Sierra Vista was provided with general profiles of each child; age, sex, grade level and their individual preferences such as themes (ponies, race cars) and colors. Other special items were also included such as sweatshirts, water bottles, blankets, stuffed animals and lunch bags.
