The Sierra Vista/Twin Cities Regional Heart Center at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center was recognized recently by the American Heart Association for “outstanding achievement in support of the American Heart Association’s efforts in cardiovascular science, education and community programs for 2006-2007.” The plaque was presented to Sierra Vista CEO Candy Markwith by Lisa Dosch of the AHA’s San Luis Obispo County office.
Since 2003, Sierra Vista has been providing a full range of cardiac services to San Luis Obispo County. In 2005, the Sierra Vista/Twin Cities Regional Heart Center was recognized by the American Heart Association with its Performance Achievement Award for its participation in AHA’s Get With the Guidelines Program. Get With the Guidelines is based on nationally accepted recommendations and guidelines designed to reduce a patient’s risk of a second heart attack.
