Sierra Vista Announces 2012 Nursing Awards

Debbie Doubledee, RN was honored as Nurse of the Year at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center during the recent National Nurses’ Week celebration. Doubledee, a nurse in the short stay unit, was selected among dozens of nominations from the nursing staff. Demonstrating strong clinical skills and judgment in patient care issues, she consistently goes above and beyond expectations to help make improvements within the department. 

Doubledee has been at Sierra Vista for nearly 25 years. She first worked as a CNA before graduating from the nursing program at Cuesta College in 1988. She later received her BSN from Cal State Dominguez Hills. In addition to her work at the hospital, she is an active member of the Delta Theta Chi Sorority, which supports education, literacy and breast cancer awareness.  In her free time she enjoys sewing, walking her dogs on the beach and traveling.
