Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center has earned the 2012 Performance Excellence Award from the Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes. The award recognizes the hospital for outstanding performance in Reducing Hospital Acquired Pressure Ulcers. The distinction was made possible thanks to the hard work of Kirsten Featherstone, Sue Dariz (both pictured), Rose Racho and Julie Williams. All four employees worked on creating a policy and developing process and procedures to ensure prevention based on risk factors and up-to-date care when patients are admitted with skin issues. They also provided additional education to nursing staff during clinical practice day, staff meetings and special seminars.
