Tim Menton, Interim Chief Executive Officer
Tim Menton, an experienced leader with 40 years of diverse leadership experience in health care administration, operations and finance has been named Interim CEO at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. Menton comes to the Central Coast with extensive experience in hospitals, health systems and a large multi-specialty group practice, leading organizations in multiple senior level capacities. For the past 18 years he has directed hospitals as both CEO and Interim CEO ranging in size from a 60-bed start-up facility to a 744-bed tertiary referral center. Menton obtained a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida State University. He is active on health care committees at the Federal and State level focused on developing health care policy. .
Michael Bell, Chief Operating Officer
Michael Bell comes to us with an extensive background in hospital operations and performance improvement having spent the past 11 years in various positions including Director of Clinical Quality Improvement and VP of Operations and Business Development. Most recently, Michael was the Associate Administrator of Hospital Operations at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science from University of Nebraska in Omaha and earned his MBA from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia.
Matthew Richardson, Chief Financial Officer
Matthew Richardson is Chief Financial Officer at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. In that capacity he oversees all financial, accounting, admitting, case management, information systems, health information systems and materials management functions. For the past 13 years, Richardson held the position of Controller/Director of Financial Development for Dignity Health – Central Coast Service Area. In that capacity he had oversight of the financial performance at French Hospital and Arroyo Grande Hospital and consolidating entities. Prior to that he was a financial analyst and assistant to the CFO/COO at Marin Individual Practice Association in Northern California.Richardson holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Sonoma State University and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
Kim Brown Sims, RN, BSN, MBA, Chief Nursing Officer
Kim Brown Sims was named chief nursing officer at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in 2014. Kim, who brings more than 25 years of management experience, is responsible for the more than 300 registered nurses at Sierra Vista as well as the overall clinical quality. Kim comes to Sierra Vista having last served as Assistant Administrator, Women’s & Children’s Services at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento. Prior to that, she spent four years at Kaiser Permanente in the Sacramento area, most recently as director, administrative services at Kaiser Permanente in Roseville. She also worked for Adventist Health for three years and spent time in private industry working at a San Francisco-based software start-up. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Sacramento, and a Master of Business Administration, Strategic Leadership from Trident University International. Kim earned an Associate of Science in Nursing from Solano Community College and a Vocational Nursing Certificate from Napa Valley College. She also has earned certification in neonatal ICU and neonatal resuscitation.
Kristin Flynn, Chief Human Resources Officer
Kristin joined Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center as the Chief Human Resources Officer in July 2013. In her role as CHRO she provides leadership for all human resources functions including strategy, recruitment and retention, organizational development, benefits and compensation and employee and labor relations. Kristin has more than 10 years of experience in HR management in the healthcare industry. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Westmont College and holds a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management with a specialization in Human Capital and Labor Relations Management from National University. Prior to joining Tenet Healthcare, she was employed by Dignity Health as the Director of Human Resources for French Hospital, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital and the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers. Kristin was recognized in 2014 by the Pacific Coast Business Times as a Top 40 Under 40 for the Tri-Counties area. She enjoys being an active member of the community and serving on SLO Chamber’s Housing Task force, and is a board member for the Foundation for the Performing Arts Center and the Workforce Investment Board.
Ron Yukelson, Associate Administrator, Business Development
Ron joined Sierra Vista as Associate Administrator for Business Development in March 2005. He has nearly 30 years of experience in health care strategic planning, marketing, business development and communications. Ron has been with Tenet California for 14 years and has held various senior level positions in the hospital and managed care fields. Prior to relocating to San Luis Obispo, he was director of business development & strategic planning at St. Vincent Medical Center in Downtown Los Angeles. Ron holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from San Diego State University and an MBA from University of La Verne. He currently serves as president of the board of directors at the San Luis Obispo County YMCA.
